Where it all began…
My romance with manure started 25yrs ago when I moved to a smallholding with very poor soil. While clearing land for vegetable gardens, I created several compost heaps, adding as much cow manure as I could lay my hands on. I remember an article I wrote for our local community newspaper, Bolander, waxing on and on about the merits of cow manure, referring to it as black gold. Black gold indeed!
Years later I would discover true black gold, Magic Rabbit compost.
As life goes, Chance in the form of unwanted rabbits, entered the fairytale. Our focus was on organic meat production, but as a byproduct, utilized the manure in our vegetable gardens. It dramatically improved our yield, with giant vegetables everywhere. We looked at the rabbits in a very different light and to the relief and delight of our friends, decided to change our focus. I researched rabbit manure and found the reason for our success.
